Vivianne Rodorigues de Brito (Holland)
@From 1982 to 1987, Vivianne was one of the members of Endanca, one of the foremost contemporary companies in Brazil, and she also studied modern dance and performing art at University of Brasillia in Brazil. She researched and performed widely in Brazil and abroad for almost seven years. She took part in many teaching projects.
After working with Endanca, she went to Amsterdam for studying at School voor Nieuwe Dans Ontwikkeling(S.N.D.O). There, she studied many dance and body work such as release technique, improvisation, contact improvisation and so on. Those experiences opened her to the rich and varied possibilities of movements within herself.
Since 2000, she has been teaching modern dance and contact improvisation at Theater School Amsterdam in Holland.
gBringing context into the danceh (Contact / Vivianne)
@Contact Improvisation is a dance that fine tunes our senses and wakes up our ability to listen and respond to what is happening in the moment, making us more engaged with our physicality and our imagination. This total presence allows us to be free to make appropriate split-second choice, creating very physical, sensitive or playful dances. I am interested in letting glittle storiesh, emerge from those dances, and further to communicate them with a performance quality.
The participants will be encouraged to place the dance, which is happening in the moment, into a context and try to find the presence and performance within contact improvisation.
